Frontline Workforce: ESL for Manufacturing – North

This course will cover the modules below which focus on high-impact language skills that directly affect daily operations.

• Safety First: Emergency & Hazard Communication Focuses on understanding OSHA signage, reporting workplace hazards, and mastering the “language of urgency” to prevent accidents.
• The Language of the Shop Floor Terminology for machinery, tools, and materials. Includes reading work orders, technical manuals, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Precision Reporting & Measurements Verbal and written training for reporting production numbers, quality control issues, and basic math/measurement units used in NJ manufacturing.
• Team Integration & Soft Skills Basic conversational English for shift handoffs, asking for clarification (the “confirming understanding” loop), and resolving peer-to-peer friction.
